Medical City McKinney has announced plans to invest $142 million in construction projects starting next year. These projects will include adding two stories to the east tower of the hospital and expanding capacity in various units such as medical-surgical, step-down, and intensive care. With a current bed count of 311, the facility will increase its total number of beds by 46 and its square footage by 105,600.
The expansion is expected to be completed by 2028 and will also involve constructing four new operating rooms, a post-anesthesia care unit, and additional space for day surgery. In addition to these improvements for general healthcare services at Medical City McKinney, enhancements are also planned for women’s health facilities. This includes adding two C-section suites and six labor & delivery suites while renovating existing spaces with updated designs that match those found in the recently opened Women’s Hospital.
In addition to these developments within Medical City McKinney itself, there is also a $50 million medical office building currently under construction on site which is set for completion in summer 2025.
