Benderson Development, a real estate company based in University Park, has recently acquired the Cypress Trace shopping center in Fort Myers. The property spans 280,000 square feet and is situated on 29 acres at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and Daniels Parkway. It features popular anchor store Winn-Dixie as well as other tenants like Bealls, Five Below, Burlington and Ross Dress for Less.
The purchase price for this property was $40.35 million and it was previously owned by Nuveen. This acquisition adds to Benderson’s existing portfolio of Fort Myers shopping centers which includes Cypress Woods, Colonial Square and the Shops at Village Walk.
In addition to this purchase in Fort Myers, Benderson also bought a mixed-use property on Park Avenue in Winter Park measuring 25,000 square feet with retail space on the ground floor and a boutique hotel with 28 rooms on the second floor.
