"Expansion of Charlotte's Strong Data Center Industry by Digital Realty"

Digital Realty, a global data center company headquartered in Austin, Texas, has recently completed the purchase of 155 acres at 12899 Moores Chapel Road in Charlotte. The site was acquired from The Keith Corp. for $160 million and will be used to build a new data center.

With over 300 data centers worldwide across more than 55 metro areas, Digital Realty is a major player in the industry. Their recent acquisition adds to the growing number of investments being made in North Carolina and specifically the Charlotte region.

Other companies such as PowerHouse Data Centers and Town Lane have also recently purchased land for future data center developments. Microsoft Corp., one of the largest tech companies globally, has already started construction on three new facilities as part of their $1 billion investment announced earlier this year.

The robust growth seen within Charlotte’s data center sector highlights its importance as an emerging hub for technology infrastructure development. With continued investments being made by major players like Digital Realty and Microsoft Corp., it is clear that this trend will continue well into the future.
