Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Inc. has recently signed a five-year lease for 3,236 square feet at 1560 Broadway with GFP Real Estate. This expansion increases the nonprofit’s total space in the Times Square office tower to over 20,000 square feet. Both the landlord and tenant were represented by Alan Steinberg of GFP Real Estate in this transaction.
The newly acquired space will be utilized by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for general offices and their newly launched affiliate initiatives. According to Tom Viola, executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS: “For more than three decades, our organization has called 1560 Broadway home – from a small area housing five employees to now occupying an entire floor along with six affiliate programs and initiatives.”
Originally built in 1925 as a historic seventeen-story building, major redevelopment was undertaken on 1560 Broadway back in2014 which transformed it into a commercial landmark within Times Square; currently serving as home base for Actors’ Equity.
