Expanding Garland's Data Center Presence: Growth and Expansion

Garland, Texas is continuing to grow its data center footprint with major upgrades. According to the Dallas Business Journal, two tenant improvement projects are underway at a Garland data center facility and appear to be connected with NTT Data. Each project is estimated at $25 million and will involve work on existing buildings for a new tenant including office space additions as well as equipment installation in the data vaults. The total square footage of both buildings comes in at 279,000 square feet.

Garland has become an attractive hub for data centers due to its proximity (within three miles) of ten other such facilities along with Joe Goldsmith’s explanation that “Dallas is the No 4 city globally for internet traffic…there’s a large pool of very skilled labor, inexpensive and reliable power [and] lots of fiber – all key ingredients for great success in this market.” As these improvements continue it’s clear that Garland remains committed towards furthering their growth within this sector.
