Everett Soccer Stadium Project Moves Forward with Community Benefits Agreements

The Kraft Group has taken a major step forward in its proposal to build a 24,000-seat soccer stadium in Everett, Massachusetts. The project, earmarked as the future home of the New England Revolution, now includes $138 million in community benefits agreements with the neighboring cities of Everett and Boston.

Boston, whose Charlestown neighborhood borders the proposed stadium site, is set to receive $48 million in community benefits over a 15-year period. Everett, the host city for the development, will receive $90 million over 20 years.

The stadium is planned for the site of a long-vacant former power plant located at 173 Alford Street in Everett. It will be entirely privately funded with no public construction funding. As of now, a construction timeline has not been disclosed.

According to a statement from the Kraft Group, the agreements include significant environmental remediation of the site, demolition of the existing plant structure, and substantial investments in traffic, transportation, and infrastructure improvements. Additional community benefits are also planned as part of the broader development effort.
