ENTEK Begins Construction on $1.5B Indiana Manufacturing Plant

Oregon-based ENTEK, the only US-owned and operated manufacturer of wet-process lithium-ion battery separators, has broken ground on a $1.5 billion separator plant in Terre Haute, Indiana. This represents ENTEK’s single largest investment to date and will produce lithium-ion battery components for the growing electric vehicle (EV) industry. Clayco was selected to design and construct the new facility that is expected to generate more than 640 high wage jobs by 2027 with an annual production capacity of 1.4 billion square meters – enough material for approximately 1.4 million vehicles per year!

Indiana Governor Eric J Holcomb expressed his enthusiasm over this project: “This is a great day for Terre Haute and for the state of Indiana…ENTEK’s decision to locate a new $1.5 billion battery component manufacturing facility here will have a transformational impact on West Central Indiana community as well as Hoosier economy in years ahead.”
