Colorado has been abuzz with anticipation for the start of work on Entegris’ 100,000 square foot plant in Colorado Springs. After months of waiting, the company recently broke ground on the $600 million project which is expected to create 600 jobs and begin commercial operation in early 2025.
The new facility will support Entegris’ Microcontamination Control and Advanced Materials Handling division, as better contamination control can significantly improve yield – a one percent increase could equate to up to $150 million per year in net profit. The Weitz Company was selected as design/build contractor for this global semi-contractor business that exceeds $500 billion; Entregris employs 9,000 people across 13 countries worldwide.
