NAIOP SoCal has achieved a major milestone with the unanimous passing of Assembly Bill 2904 by the California State Senate. This groundbreaking legislation, which aims to increase transparency in zoning changes, is the first bill sponsored by NAIOP SoCal and successfully guided through the state legislative process.
Authored by Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva (D-67), AB 2904 extends the notification period for property owners regarding pending zoning changes from its current length to double that time. José Cornejo, Senior Consultant for Government and Political Affairs at NAIOP SoCal, played a crucial role in navigating this bill through all stages of the legislative process.
“This is an incredible accomplishment for us,” said Timothy Jemal, CEO of NAIOP SoCal. “It showcases our dedication to building strong bipartisan relationships while advocating for policies that support commercial real estate and contribute to California’s economic growth. Our efforts have paid off.”
