Lewis Retail Centers, a division of Lewis Group of Companies, has started construction on Electric Pickle, a chef-driven restaurant, bar and pickleball social house planned at The Resort in Rancho Cucamonga. The concept is expected to make its California debut in summer 2027 within the master-planned urban village developed by Lewis Planned Communities.
The new venue is designed as both a dining destination and an activity-focused social hub, combining food and beverage offerings with on-site pickleball play. Electric Pickle is being built as an 8,500-square-foot restaurant and social club that will serve as a key component of The Resort’s next phase of retail and entertainment build-out.
The project will anchor The Courtyard, a 31,800-square-foot urban village situated at the intersection of 4th Street and Resort Parkway. Plans for The Courtyard call for 10 pickleball courts, including seven outdoor courts and three covered courts, positioned alongside a lawn area and multiple bar and lounge spaces. Within this layout, Electric Pickle is intended to operate as the primary food-and-beverage and social anchor, supporting both daytime and evening activity.
The Courtyard’s location at 4th Street and Resort Parkway places the development in what is described as one of the Inland Empire’s most active retail and entertainment corridors. By integrating dedicated outdoor recreation areas, covered courts and flexible gathering spaces, the project aims to capture demand from residents and visitors seeking experiences that combine recreation and dining.
Lewis Retail Centers and Lewis Planned Communities are using Electric Pickle’s first California location to advance the broader vision for The Resort’s urban village, aligning new experiential retail and entertainment offerings with the community’s long-term growth. Company leadership characterizes pickleball as having evolved beyond a passing trend into a lifestyle activity that draws people together in the same way they congregate around food and social venues, and views Electric Pickle’s arrival as reinforcing the energy building across the surrounding community.
As construction progresses toward an anticipated summer 2027 opening, Electric Pickle is expected to play a central role in activating The Courtyard and supporting ongoing leasing and tenant curation efforts at The Resort. The combination of a chef-focused restaurant, bar program and multiple pickleball courts positions the concept as a differentiated draw within the regional retail and entertainment mix.
