In the near future, the 54,000 veterans residing in or around El Paso will have access to their own health center. This new ambulatory care facility will cover 492,000 square feet and be located on the William Beaumont Army Medical Centre campus.
The announcement for this project was made in January of 2024. The Fort Worth District of the Army Corps of Engineers has contracted Clark Construction Group to develop and construct this $617 million healthcare center at Fort Bliss. It will be a design-build project with one contractor responsible for both designing and building the facility.
The team working on this project includes Clark Construction as well as SmithGroup + HKS Joint Venture for design services. Other contractors involved are MMC Contractors, Bergelectric, Gate Precast and SteelFab.
With all parties ready to begin construction, efforts are being made by engineers and builders to ensure that the healthcare center opens on schedule in 2028.
