Eight West, a subsidiary of The Hakimian Organization, has officially begun construction at 19 Elm St. in New Haven, CT. This development will consist of seven stories and feature 96 luxury rental units with ground-level retail.
According to Rex Hakimian, partner at Eight West, “This site holds a significant history and we are thrilled to revitalize the area with this stunning project.” He also expressed his admiration for New Haven’s charm and architectural importance as well as his belief that this development will contribute to the city’s ongoing growth. Quality and thoughtful design are key components of their vision for this project.
The property was previously occupied by Harold’s Bridal Shop but had been vacant for several years before Eight West acquired it in August 2022. With an estimated budget of $40 million, demolition began in early 2023 and is expected to be completed by early 2026.
