EAH Housing, a nonprofit developer, has begun construction on Agave in Altadena. This 58-unit affordable housing development will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments for individuals who were previously homeless. The four-story building is located at 2052 Lake Ave and is expected to be completed by 2025.
According to Laura Hall, CEO and president of EAH Housing, the city of Altadena is facing a growing need for affordable housing as well as special needs and permanent supportive housing. Agave aims to address this demand by providing a community that caters to the needs of those experiencing unstable housing situations. EAH Housing has partnered with Union Station Homeless Services in order to provide supportive services for residents.
All residents will have access to the Homeless Management Information System and Coordinated Entry System in compliance with federal regulations.
The launch of this new development showcases EAH Housing’s commitment towards addressing the pressing issue of homelessness in LA County through expertly designed affordable homes like Agave.
