Dutch Chemical Firm Secures Houston's Biggest Lease Agreement

Netherlands-based chemical company LyondellBasell Industries NV is relocating its U.S. headquarters to the Williams Tower in Houston’s Galleria area, leaving behind the downtown tower it has occupied for decades. The move is planned for late 2024 or early 2025 and was facilitated by a 318,504-square-foot lease signed with CBRE representing LyondellBasell and Invesco Real Estate representing the landlord. This marks Houston’s largest 2023 office lease signing to date at 308,000 square feet – narrowly ahead of Fluor’s recent deal at Eldridge Three – and demonstrates LyondellBasell’s commitment as one of the region’s top energy industry employers with an estimated 1,000 employees in total.
