**Duracell to Open New $56 Million R&D Headquarters in Atlanta**

Duracell, the well-known battery manufacturer, is set to establish a new $56 million research and development headquarters in Atlanta. The facility, which will employ 110 workers, is expected to open in the summer of 2026 as part of the Science Square Labs project.

The first phase of Science Square was completed last year, and the development is a collaboration between Georgia Tech and commercial real estate firm Trammell Crow Co. Once fully developed, Science Square will span 18 acres and feature 1.8 million square feet of lab and office space, as well as apartments and retail areas.

Duracell is known for producing alkaline, lithium coin, and hearing aid batteries. The company operates as a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Duracell has maintained a presence in Georgia since 1980, operating a manufacturing facility in LaGrange that employs 400 workers and a distribution center in Fairburn with 275 employees.

The company was represented in this transaction by Chad Koenig and Katelyn Fabian of Partners Real Estate.
