CIM Group has successfully secured a long-term lease with the renowned international law firm Sheppard Mullin, bringing their headquarters to City National 2CAL. This deal, totaling 119,217 square feet of space, is reported as the largest new office lease transaction in Downtown Los Angeles for 2023.
Sheppard Mullin will occupy floors 39 through 42 and approximately an additional 7,000 square feet on the Plaza level at City National 2CAL. The esteemed law firm boasts over four hundred and fifty employees in Los Angeles County alone and will relocate them to this prime location by mid-2025.
According to Shaul Kuba, co-founder and principal of CIM Group: “This record-breaking lease with a top-tier organization like Sheppard Mullin serves as evidence that high-quality office spaces remain desirable options for businesses.” He also added that CIM Group continuously strives to improve both working conditions and socializing opportunities at City National CAL2 through property enhancements while maintaining its competitive position within DTLA’s office market.
The leasing team from CIM Group partnered with JLL represented ownership during negotiations while CBRE acted on behalf of Sheppard Mullin. This significant development marks yet another milestone for Connect CRE’s continuous growth in Downtown LA.
