**Downtown Atlanta Hospital Demolished to Make Way for Large-Scale Mixed-Use Redevelopment**

The former Wellstar Health System hospital in downtown Atlanta has been demolished following its closure in 2022, clearing the way for a major redevelopment project. The 22-acre site is set to be transformed into a mixed-use community featuring more than 1,000 residential units.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Wellstar selected The Integral Group as the master developer for the project. The plan includes a blend of housing, retail, office space, and green areas. Additional developers are expected to join the project as it progresses.

Not all of the existing healthcare-related buildings on the site will be torn down, as the redevelopment may continue to incorporate certain medical services into the new community.

The redevelopment will take place in multiple phases, with the initial phase potentially including residential units and a grocery store.

The Integral Group, founded in 1993, has a history of collaborating with cities to deliver developments that focus on affordability, sustainability, and long-term community value. Their work spans from mixed-income housing to large-scale urban revitalization initiatives.
