Douglaston Launches Second Phase Construction of Bronx Affordable Housing

Douglaston Development and its affiliate, Levine Builders, have started construction on a new affordable multifamily development in the Bronx. Located at 2868 Webster Ave., the 12-story building will offer 277 units and is situated next to the New York Botanical Garden’s expansive grounds. This project marks the second phase of a mixed-use development.

The previous structure on this site was demolished last month after Cherry Valley marketplace, its tenant, relocated to a newly built space in phase one of the development. The new building is expected to be completed by 2027.

CEO Jed Resnick expressed his pride in delivering much-needed affordable housing for families in the Bronx community through this project. He also acknowledged their successful collaboration with project and community partners during Phase I and looks forward to continuing that partnership as they work towards completing Phase II.

Upon completion, 2868 Webster Ave will join another Douglaston Development property at nearby address -2850 Webster Ave- which offers senior housing with 188 units and was completed back in 2023.
