Dominium has submitted an application to acquire a portion of the Raleigh Golf Association golf course for the development of apartments on approximately 44 acres. The proposed zoning would allow for residential mixed-use buildings up to four stories high. This plan only involves building on a small number of holes from the existing 27-hole layout.
The identified properties are located on the north side of Tryon Road, while the RGA clubhouse and majority of the golf course will remain untouched by this rezoning request.
Currently in its design phase, Dominium intends to construct between 350 and 500 townhomes and apartments as part of this project. These units will be targeted towards individuals earning no more than 60 percent of the area’s median income. The estimated timeline for completion is three to four years.
To support this affordable housing initiative, Dominium expects to receive noncompetitive housing tax credits from North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.
