Doe Fund Breaks Ground on 200-Bed Transitional Housing in Brooklyn

The Doe Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless population, has begun construction on a 200-bed transitional housing residence in Brooklyn. The project is being funded by both public and private sources, including the NYC Department of Homeless Services, SLC Management, and KeyBank’s Community Development Group.

Designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives and developed by Bolivar Builders and Round Square Development, the residence is expected to be completed in 2025. Through their program Ready Willing & Able (RWA), The Doe Fund will provide residents with paid work opportunities as well as housing and support services.

According to Jennifer Mitchell, president and CEO of The Doe Fund: “The City’s investment in this project highlights the need for comprehensive solutions. Our RWA program offers a three-pronged approach – paid work experience during transition period along with stable housing arrangements coupled with extensive social services – all under one roof.”
