Kairoi Residential has unveiled plans for a large-scale mixed-use development on over 100 acres of land currently occupied by an industrial storage yard. Located between US 183 and The Colorado River, the project will feature more than 2,200 multifamily units, a 385-room hotel, nearly 1.5 million square feet of office space, and over 20,000 square feet of retail space. Additionally, there will be a shopping plaza spanning more than127 ,000 square feet.
The development also includes plans for various amenities such as restaurants (134 ,000 square feet), an arts theater (27 ,000-square-foot), music venue (8 ,500-square-foot) and civic center (37 ,000-square-foot). To make this vision come to life,Kairoi is seeking to rezone the two sites from limited industrial use to planned development area.The request is set to be reviewed by the Austin City Council later this month.
City staff and Planning Commission have both recommended approval for the project which promises to bring significant economic growth in Austin’s real estate market.
