Discover Hotel occupancy in Chicago’s Loop for January and February 2023 nearly doubled from 2022, and almost tripled compared to 2021, according to the Chicago Loop Alliance. The week ending March 25 saw a 7% increase in citywide hotel occupancy when compared with 2019 levels.
Michael Edwards, President & CEO of the Chicago Loop Alliance spoke with the Chicago Business Journal about this positive news: “The hotel association, restaurant association – they’ve all been working hard to bring back big conferences into town. Since Q1 is usually the slowest quarter for hotels it’s great that we were above 2019 levels which bodes well for the future of the hospitality industry here in the loop.”
