"DFW Factory Tax Breaks Await Bell Textron"

Bell Textron is edging closer to a potential $429 million manufacturing plant in Fort Worth. The company has expressed interest in the site previously occupied by Stanley Black and Decker Tooling at 15100 North Beach St, but is waiting to determine what tax breaks and incentives may be available.

The proposed 450,000-square-foot facility would primarily focus on producing components for the V-280 Valor helicopter. It would also serve as a warehouse and distribution center.

To help make this project feasible, Bell Textron has applied for a 10-year tax abatement through the state’s new school property tax incentives program. Additionally, the city of Fort Worth is considering offering an additional tax abatement specifically for this project. This incentive would cover approximately 34.3 acres of land and include building improvements worth at least $122,000.

The final decision on these potential tax breaks will be made next month by town officials. If approved, this development could bring over 400 jobs to the area with salaries averaging above $85,000 per year.
