Development Team Begins Construction on Dual-Branded Hotel in North Phoenix

LaPour Partners and Holualoa Companies have officially broken ground on AC/Element City North, a new dual-branded hotel that will be located in CityNorth—a mixed-use development situated next to Desert Ridge Marketplace in North Phoenix. The LaPour-Holualoa team acquired the development site from Crown, CityNorth’s master developer.

Strategically positioned near the new Sprouts Headquarters, the eight-story property will combine two Marriott International brands under one roof: AC Hotel by Marriott and Element by Westin. The project will feature a total of 240 guest accommodations, including 142 rooms under the AC Hotel brand and 98 suites under the Element brand.

AC/Element City North is designed to deliver a robust lineup of amenities for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel will include 5,700 square feet of flexible indoor-outdoor meeting space, a saline swimming pool, the signature AC Lounge, the Element Rise breakfast experience, outdoor fireplaces, suites with private balconies, a sundry market, guest laundry facilities, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The hotel will become a centerpiece of the ambitious $2 billion CityNorth master plan, which aims to transform the area into a dynamic urban hub. Once complete, the development will feature more than 2 million square feet of office space, 3,400 multifamily residential units, 1,000 hotel rooms, and a wide array of retail shops and dining establishments.

The project’s construction is being led by general contractor Whiting-Turner, while RSP Architects is overseeing the architectural design.
