As Texas continues to become a potential surf mecca, multiple companies have expressed interest in constructing surf-related attractions. From wave-making machines in swimming pools to expansive lagoons with multiple waves for dozens of surfers at once, Austin is now part of the mix due to an Australian-based developer called Aventuur. According to the Austin Business Journal, Aventuur has exclusive rights over Wavegarden SL’s wave generating technology and plans on having 5.5 acre surfing lagoons as part of larger mixed use developments that span up 20 acres and include retail stores and recreational facilities such as cafes, restaurants, beach clubs hotels/lodging fitness studios and event facilities – all estimated between $50 million-$100 million per destination. Additionally Surf Lakes has outlined its own goal for developing a park within Austin too!
