### Developers Planning Massive Mixed-Use Project in Hutto
Capland Development is in the early stages of planning a major 257-acre project in Hutto, dubbed **Gateway at Hutto**. The proposed development will feature a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, including:
– **Multifamily Housing:** 29 acres with 730 units
– **Townhomes:** 13 acres with 125 units
– **Single-Family Homes:** 68 acres with 285 homes
– **Mixed-Use Commercial:** 58 acres (660,000 square feet) including office space, a hotel and conference center, retail areas, and more
– **Open Space:** 74 acres with a central lake
The project will be located at East Wilco Highway and County Road 137.
According to the *Austin Business Journal*, developers will need to address infrastructure requirements such as roads, water, and wastewater systems. Rialto Studio Inc. has been enlisted as the project’s land planner, though an official timeline is yet to be determined as permitting approvals are still pending.
Hutto, located about 30 miles northeast of Austin, has been experiencing rapid growth, with its population reaching nearly 40,000 residents.
