Developer Secures Approval for 760-Acre Master Planned Community

Crown Community Development (CCD) has recently been granted approval by the Village of Sugar Grove, Illinois for their latest project, The Grove. This expansive 760-acre master-planned community is set to be the largest development of its kind in the Chicago area in over two decades.

According to Teri Frankiewicz, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Crown Community Development, this project will bring much-needed economic opportunities and housing options to not only Sugar Grove but also the surrounding region.

The Grove will include a mix of residential areas as well as a town center that features a village green with retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Additionally, there will be designated commercial zones within The Grove for various purposes such as retail stores, community services facilities like healthcare centers or e-commerce distribution centers.

With multiple residential areas planned within The Grove’s layout including attached and detached single-family homes, townhomes, and active adult neighborhoods, the development aims to cater to diverse housing needs. There are also plans for senior living opportunities and market-rate multifamily apartments within this massive community.

One notable feature of this master-planned community is its commercial district known as “Grove Park.” Spanning across 323 acres north of I-88/Route 47 interchange, this area can accommodate various land uses such as healthcare facilities, business suites, multifamily housing, distribution centers, data centers, and other essential services. Overall,Crown Community Development’s successful acquisition of entitlements from Village officials marks an exciting milestone for both parties involved in bringing forth one-of-a-kind growth opportunity through The Groveto their respective communities.
