**Denver Commits Nearly $10M to Launch $400M Western-Themed Development**

The City of Denver has committed nearly $10 million in seed funding to initiate an ambitious western-themed development project centered around equestrian events. Known as the National Western Campus, the proposed development will feature a 4,500-seat arena, a 570-stall equestrian center, and the $100 million Western Stock Show Association Legacy Building.

City officials have outlined a one-time payment of up to $9.97 million to cover pre-development costs. Future funding may include up to $23.3 million annually over the next 35 years, potentially bringing the total project cost to approximately $400 million, according to a report from the Denver Business Journal.

Additional components of the expansive project include:

– A 160-room hotel
– A multi-level parking garage
– A five-acre pedestrian plaza and open space
– 30 to 40 workforce housing units

The city plans to leverage $775 million in previously approved public bond funding to support infrastructure improvements for the development. The new facilities will replace the existing event center at the National Western Center, with the City of Denver taking ownership of the new equestrian center upon completion.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2028.
