Denver Homeless Shelter: Former Hotel Purchased by Agency

A former Best Western hotel in Northeast Park Hill, Denver is set to become housing for the homeless. The Denver Housing Authority (DHA) purchased the property for nearly $26 million and will lease it to the City and County of Denver once the deal closes. With 194 rooms at 4595 Quebec St., most of which have kitchenettes, retrofitting will be minimal. At least 40% of these units are reserved for tenants earning 30% or less than Area Median Income (approximately $25,000 annually). The city plans on leasing this property starting September 1st.
