**Wiwynn Investing $152 Million in New El Paso-Area Facility**
Wiwynn, a Taiwanese cloud infrastructure company known for manufacturing data center servers, is set to invest $152 million in a new testing and manufacturing facility in Socorro, Texas—a city of 35,000 located just east of El Paso. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs in the area.
The facility will span 833,000 square feet and will be housed in two buildings at 9220 Socorro Road, within the Socorro Logistics Center.
According to the Albuquerque Business Journal, the project has secured local incentives to support the investment. El Paso County has offered $2 million in tax abatement incentives, contingent on the company’s commitment to invest at least $92 million in the county. This includes $64 million in real property and $28 million in personal property assets. Additionally, the City of Socorro has provided a 10-year, 90% rebate on personal property taxes, valued at $1.25 million.
Wiwynn already operates a customer service facility north of Socorro at 1430 Henry Brennan Drive, further solidifying its presence in the region.
This latest investment adds to a wave of industrial development in Socorro, following Oppidan’s $300 million data center project and Maersk’s new shipping facility in the area.
