Danette Nguyen has been appointed as the new CEO of Ballston Business Improvement District (BID), effective December 5. As a resident of Ballston with extensive experience in leadership and community engagement, Nguyen is dedicated to the success and prosperity of the neighborhood.
Simon Carney, Senior Vice President at Brookfield Properties and President of the Ballston BID Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for interim CEO Cassandra Hanley’s steady leadership during this transition period. He also welcomed Nguyen to her new role, stating that her impressive track record and expertise make her an ideal fit for Ballston. Her ability to collaborate across both private and public sectors, strategize effectively, and execute economic initiatives are some key strengths that will benefit the BID.
Prior to joining Ballston BID, Nguyen served as a leader at Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC), which is part of Rockville Economic Development Inc. (REDI). In this role,she spearheaded efforts towards empowering small businesses while driving economic growth in Maryland.Her skills in strategic planning,budget management,and optimizing organizational operations will be crucial assets in advancingBallsonBIDs mission.
