**Harwood Center in Downtown Dallas Hits Auction Block with $10M Starting Bid**
The 36-story Harwood Center, located in downtown Dallas at 1999 Bryan Street, is now up for auction. Transwestern’s Dallas Capital Markets Group, in partnership with RI Marketplace, is marketing the skyscraper. Bidding for the property starts at $10 million, with offers due by October 15.
The tower spans over 734,440 rentable square feet and is currently only 47% occupied. Originally built in 1983 and last renovated in 1996, Harwood Center presents a variety of redevelopment possibilities. According to the auction listing, options include converting the property into residential or hospitality space, or repurposing it for use as a major corporate headquarters.
Current tenants include global engineering firm Jacobs, which maintains its headquarters in the building, as well as Omnicom Management, a subsidiary of advertising and marketing giant Omnicom Group Inc.
The building is listed under the ownership of Comm 2014UBS5, according to the Dallas Central Appraisal District.
