Dallas Ranks 3rd in Office-Apartment Conversions

According to a recent report from RentCafe, Dallas has emerged as one of the top metros for converting vacant office space into new apartments. As cities across the country look to adapt to a post-pandemic world and address housing shortages, redeveloping underused office space has become a crucial strategy.

This year alone, over 3,100 apartments in the Dallas area will be converted from former office spaces with an additional 3,800 units planned for future conversions. In fact, Dallas ranks third behind only New York City and Washington D.C. in terms of planned office-to-apartment conversions. Nationally, there are expected to be over 55
