Dallas County to Construct $52M Bio-Lab Facility: New Construction Project Announced

Dallas County is constructing a new $52 million life science facility near the Southwestern Medical District and Dallas Love Field. The 75,000-square-foot building will house the county’s Health and Human Services’ public health laboratory, featuring a build-to-suit bio-safety level 3 facility to meet current and future needs. Located at 1400 W. Mockingbird Lane on a 1.6 acre property acquired from TXRE Properties, it will also include an adjoining building purchased last year for community supervision and corrections purposes at 1300 W Mockingbird Lane.

Architect firm Page Southerland Page has been appointed to design the project with Beck Construction serving as general contractor while international investment manager Amber Infrastructure Group in partnership with DeSoto based Integrated Project Solutions are overseeing construction operations of this ambitious endeavor which is expected to be completed by fourth quarter 2025 with occupancy as early as January 2026 according to Dallas Business Journals reports .
