Cushman & Wakefield has expanded its Louisville property management platform with the addition of a sizable new assignment that was previously overseen by NAI Fortis Group. The firm reported that a 7.5 million-square-foot portfolio has transitioned to its management, adding a diversified collection of industrial, office and retail properties to its existing responsibilities in the market.
The incoming assets were formerly managed by NAI Fortis Group, a Louisville-based firm founded by Jon Seiz in 2001. As part of the handoff, six members of NAI Fortis Group’s property management team have joined Cushman & Wakefield, bringing their existing property-level knowledge and client relationships into the global services platform.
With the new portfolio on board, Cushman & Wakefield now oversees approximately 20 million square feet of property management assignments in Louisville. The expansion meaningfully scales the firm’s local footprint across multiple property types, with industrial, office and retail all represented in the new mandate.
The transition is tied to the planned retirement of NAI Fortis Group founder and President Jon Seiz. His decision to retire prompted the change in management, with Cushman & Wakefield assuming responsibility for the property management accounts. The move allows existing clients of NAI Fortis Group to be serviced by the larger Cushman & Wakefield platform while retaining continuity through the transfer of key personnel.
Cheri Shepherd, Executive Managing Director, Asset Services at Cushman & Wakefield, emphasized the firm’s intent to continue serving these clients and to connect them with the broader resources and capabilities available within the company’s national and international network. The comment underscores that the transition is designed to provide both service continuity and access to additional institutional infrastructure.
In a separate but related development, NAI Fortis Group’s brokerage professionals have joined Commercial Kentucky. Commercial Kentucky is described as an independently owned and operated member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Program, indicating that while property management responsibilities have moved directly under Cushman & Wakefield, brokerage services affiliated with the former NAI Fortis Group will operate under a distinct organization aligned with the firm’s alliance network.
Taken together, the changes mark a reorganization of how real estate services connected to NAI Fortis Group will be delivered in Louisville. Property management activities will be handled under Cushman & Wakefield’s asset services platform, while brokerage staff will continue their work through Commercial Kentucky within the framework of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Program.
