Crow Holdings Joins Forces with Partner to Invest in Small Shopping Centers

Crow Holdings believes smaller format, open-air malls with strong food and beverage offerings are thriving despite the shift to e-commerce. The Dallas-based national real estate investment and development firm has now formed a joint venture (JV) and retail real estate investment platform in partnership with its investment management business Crow Holdings Capital (CHC) and a global institutional investor. This JV allows them to expand their retail investments into small-format, convenience oriented, open air shopping centers while capitalizing on the opportunity of aggregating an institutional quality portfolio in a highly fragmented market.

The platform was created via recapitalization of an existing $1.8 billion 173 property portfolio owned by two CHC managed funds which includes significant equity commitment for new acquisitions aiming to establish the JV as one of the leading small format food & service platforms in US markets.
