**Crosland Southeast to Break Ground on 400-Unit Apartment Complex at The Exchange at Indian Land**

Crosland Southeast is set to begin construction this fall on a 400-unit apartment community at The Exchange at Indian Land. The development is part of a larger mixed-use project that includes residential, retail, and potential medical facilities in the rapidly growing area of Indian Land, South Carolina.

The project, being developed in partnership with FCP, is gaining momentum as two major retail anchors—Costco Wholesale and Lowes Foods—are expected to open their doors in the fourth quarter of this year. Additional smaller retail spaces within the development could open as early as 2026.

Costco purchased its 28-acre site at The Exchange last year for $6.4 million. In total, the development will feature 320 townhomes and 115,000 square feet of commercial space, with Lowes Foods serving as the anchor tenant. Costco will be located on an outparcel within the site.

The plan also includes potential additional space for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). MUSC is currently constructing a hospital in Indian Land and has expressed interest in expanding its presence in the area beyond the main hospital campus.

The Exchange at Indian Land is located at 8918 Charlotte Highway.
