Cromwell Commercial Group is advancing plans for a large-scale mixed-use development in Elgin after receiving approval from the local town council. The approximately 76-acre project, known as Silo Ranch, is slated to include a hotel alongside a range of additional commercial real estate components.
Early plans for Silo Ranch outline a program that could encompass multifamily housing, additional hotel uses, commercial development and civic spaces. While detailed phasing and timelines have not been disclosed, the vision positions the site as a new node for hospitality, residential and daily-needs services within the growing community.
According to reporting from the Austin Business Journal, Cromwell’s preliminary concept includes about 190,000 square feet of neighborhood-oriented retail space. The plan calls for a mix of standalone pad sites, multi-tenant retail buildings and end-cap spaces configured for drive-thru users, indicating an emphasis on convenience and service-oriented tenants.
Prospective retailers and service providers identified in early planning materials span a broad range of categories. Targeted uses include restaurants, medical offices, a grocery store, fitness studio, coffee shops, nail salons and home decor stores, among other neighborhood-focused offerings. The mix is intended to provide a comprehensive retail and service environment for area residents and visitors.
On the capital markets and brokerage side, Cromwell Commercial Group professionals Will Phipps, Gregg Glime and Brandon Davis are listed as the brokers on the Silo Ranch project. Their roles are tied to marketing and positioning the development’s commercial components as planning advances.
Elgin, situated roughly 25 miles northeast of Austin and described as having a population of about 12,500, has attracted significant attention from homebuilders in recent years. Thousands of new homes are reported to be in the pipeline, creating a growing residential base that Silo Ranch’s hospitality, retail and potential multifamily elements are expected to serve.
While specific development and construction timelines, capital investment figures and tenant commitments have not been detailed, the approval from the town council marks a key milestone for Cromwell Commercial Group’s Silo Ranch concept. As planning progresses, the project is positioned to add new hotel keys, residential options, commercial space and civic areas to an expanding suburban community near Austin.
