Crescent Communities has submitted its final plans to Mecklenburg County for approval to construct a 31-story high-rise at 1102 S. Tryon St. in South End. The company obtained permits totaling $126.3 million from the county.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, Crescent and Nuveen Real Estate announced their joint project in February of 2022 and purchased the 3-acre property at Carson and South Tryon streets for $37 million.
The development, known as Carson & Tryon, will feature a mix of uses including office space (560,000 square feet), retail space (10,000 square feet), Novel-branded apartments (200 units) and a boutique hotel with 200 rooms.
One of its standout features is an expansive sky terrace spanning over18,000 square feet that offers outdoor meeting spaces, casual lounges with unobstructed views of uptown Charlotte and South End. Additionally,a fitness center,luxurious locker rooms,and wellness programming will be available on-site along with conferenceand boardroom spaces withinthe12 ,00-square-foot indoor amenity lounge.
Office leasing for this project is being handled by Virginia Lutherand Dillard Williamsof The Spectrum Cos.
