CBRE facilitated the sale of 6060 Cornerstone Ct. West, a 67,099-square-foot office building in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa submarket for $12.05 million to local private investor Sorrento Biotech Center LLC. The buyer plans to convert the property into a life sciences facility.
A team from CBRE including Matt Carlson, Hunter Rowe, Camille Doan, Alex Hayden, Barbara Perrier Mike Longo Matt Pourcho and Anthony DeLorenzo represented the corporate seller while Chris Duncan of Voit Real Estate represented the buyer.
According to Carlson: “There is significant investment interest in mid-market lab properties and repurposing underutilized assets in this market.”
The asset sits on 2.96 acres at an important intersection within Sorrento Mesa – known as a hub for growth and innovation – with close proximity to universities and renowned research institutions as well as San Diego’s thriving life sciences industry.
Built in 1985 by its previous corporate owner who had exclusively occupied it since then until now when it was put up for sale on the broader real estate market for the first time ever.
