North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) recently celebrated the successful completion of its state-of-the-art Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion in Manhasset. Made possible by generous donations from individuals like Attilio and Beverly Petrocelli, this $560 million facility is a major milestone for Northwell Health and greatly enhances critical programs in cardiac care, neurosurgery, and transplants.
According to Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health: “This is a momentous occasion for healthcare in the region. The development of the Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion has been an integral part of our master plan for over ten years. It took determination and perseverance to bring this massive project to fruition with support from various officials at all levels as well as visionary donors.”
The pavilion boasts 18 cutting-edge operating rooms and 132 intensive care rooms including the renowned Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital. Construction on this capital project began in April 2020 under Skanska’s leadership.
This impressive achievement marks another significant step forward for NSUH’s commitment to providing top-notch medical services while also showcasing their dedication towards continuous improvement through strategic investments.
