Construction on the highly anticipated Prosper Arts District is set to begin later this year. The town council has approved zoning changes and a development agreement for the 35-acre project, located at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Prosper Trail. Capitalize Ventures will lead the development team, with design work by Gensler.
The district will feature three hotels, over 500 apartments, and a shopping village centered around a water trail upon completion. One of these hotels will specialize in hosting weddings and could become a popular destination for such events. An announcement regarding an additional sports-focused hotel is expected in the coming months.
This ambitious project is estimated to create more than 400 full-time jobs and generate over $1 billion in economic impact once completed. With an overall cost exceeding $300 million, developers are confident that it will be worth every penny.
Prosper’s rapid growth has made it one of America’s fastest-growing cities as its population increased by nearly 11% between 2022-2023 alone.
