**Construction Begins on $300M Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney**
Ground has officially broken on the much-anticipated Sunset Amphitheater at McKinney, a massive 20,000-seat live music venue set to become the first of its kind in Texas. Located on 46 acres near U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 121, the state-of-the-art venue is projected to open in the third quarter of 2026.
Designed for versatility and year-round programming, the Sunset Amphitheater will feature a flexible multi-season configuration, allowing guests to enjoy concerts and events throughout the year regardless of the weather. Highlights include premium LuxeFire Suites, a canopied roof, and wind walls to provide shelter and maintain a comfortable temperature in winter months. At the heart of the venue lies The Aikman Club—a members-only experience offering upscale cuisine and prime views from within the amphitheater.
The $300 million project is the result of a public-private partnership between VENU, the City of McKinney, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, and the McKinney Community Development Corporation. It is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, with projections indicating over $3 billion in regional economic impact during its first decade of operation.
The Sunset Amphitheater at McKinney is poised to become a major cultural and economic landmark in North Texas.
