**Construction Begins on Northern Virginia Science Center**

Construction is officially underway on the new Northern Virginia Science Center in Sterling, Loudoun County. Spearheaded by HGA, a nationally recognized designer of museum facilities, the project marks a significant milestone for science education and public engagement in the region.

The Northern Virginia Science Center is a collaborative effort between the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation and the Science Museum of Virginia. Backed by a mix of public and private funding, the museum is expected to draw more than 300,000 visitors annually.

Situated within the Kincora mixed-use development, the facility will span 70,000 square feet and will feature interactive exhibits and educational experiences. As the project’s designer and architect of record, HGA is working in tandem with Balfour Beatty, the project’s construction partner. Together, they aim to implement sustainable design practices including the use of low-embodied carbon materials and landscaping that features pollinator gardens.

The Northern Virginia Science Center is poised to become a key educational and cultural asset for the region, blending innovation and sustainability with community-focused programming.
