Construction of Terminal F Begins at DFW Airport

Construction has officially begun on Terminal F at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), marking the first new terminal to be built at the airport since 2005. The $1.6 billion project will feature a 400,000-square-foot concourse and a SkyLink station.

According to DFW’s CEO Sean Donohue, this process will be faster than most thanks to innovative modular construction techniques that were first used for the High-C Gates. These methods allow for technology to be utilized on a larger scale in airport development projects. Preparations have already been made at the Terminal F pre-fabrication site, where modules will be constructed before being transported across the airfield and installed at their final destination.

The design-build team responsible for creating Terminal F’s concourse and Skylink station is Innovation Next+, which consists of Archer Western Construction, Turner Construction Company, Phillips May Corporation, H.J Russell & Company, and CARCON Industries. The design team includes PGAL,Gensler, and Muller2.TerminalFis expectedto openin2027.
