Plans to transform Doraville’s core into a vibrant, walkable downtown are moving forward, marking a major milestone for the city after more than 20 years of visioning by civic leaders.

Master developer Kaufman Capital Partners, in collaboration with architectural firm McMillan Pazdan Smith and contractor Choate Construction, is preparing to begin demolition of former municipal buildings. These efforts will pave the way for a new city center featuring public spaces, multifamily housing, retail establishments, and restaurant pads.

Doraville City Manager Chris Eldridge emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “We’re creating a downtown that will transform the city’s core into a thriving, welcoming, and enduring destination.”

Located northeast of Atlanta, the city of Doraville is home to approximately 10,000 residents. As part of the redevelopment, municipal offices will be relocated this summer into a nearby mixed-use development. The vacated buildings will be demolished as part of Phase I of the project, which will focus on creating new civic spaces.

Phase II of the development will include rental residences, additional retail space, and restaurants. The comprehensive 13-acre project is expected to bring sustained activity and new energy to the city over the coming years.
