Construction Milestone Reached at Lurie Children's New Outpatient Center

Skender has successfully placed the final piece of structural steel on the Schaumburg Outpatient, Primary Care and Infusion Center in Schaumburg, Illinois. This marks a significant milestone as it signifies the completion of the structural phase of construction for this project. The center is expected to open in summer 2025.

Designed by HKS, this new 75,000-square-foot center will expand Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago’s services in the northwest suburbs. It will offer a range of ancillary and diagnostic services such as orthotics and prosthetics, laboratory and pharmacy services, as well as an ambulatory infusion center with potential for future expansion.

Marty Barrett, Senior Project Manager at Skender expressed his excitement about reaching this milestone: “Today we celebrate not only completing the building’s structural steel but also acknowledge our entire project team’s hard work as we move into enclosure work followed by mechanical systems installation and interior finishing.” The project team includes HKS (architect), Skender (general contractor), IMEG Corp.(structural/mechanical engineers) ,and V3 Companies(civil engineers).
