Developers Terra and Turnberry have officially broken ground on the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, a highly anticipated 800-room hotel that will be directly connected to the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The development is supported by $392 million in construction financing from TYKO Capital. The new hotel project follows the recent $640 million renovation of the convention center, signaling significant continued investment in the area’s hospitality and events infrastructure.

Located at 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, the 17-story Grand Hyatt will include 12 floors of guest accommodations, featuring 52 suites with scenic views of Miami Beach. The remaining four floors will be dedicated to meeting and ballroom space. Designed by renowned architectural firm Arquitectonica, the hotel will also feature an array of resort-style amenities.

Scheduled for completion in late 2027, the project will include extensive public enhancements such as new open spaces, pedestrian promenades, bike-sharing stations, and improved access to public transportation — aiming to enhance the overall connectivity and visitor experience in Miami Beach.
