Construction is currently underway for the Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, located at the northeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. The first structure to take shape will be a 300-room hotel, with plans for additional rides, shows, restaurants and shops on site.
According to reports from the Dallas Business Journal and Orlando Park Shop, contractors have already laid foundations for a potential SpongeBob SquarePants-themed building. They have also dug trenches for a planned water ride and constructed a new six-lane road connecting Dallas Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway.
The resort is expected to open in 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup which will bring large crowds to Arlington’s AT&T Stadium. This location has been selected as one of nine sites worldwide that will host multiple games during this global soccer tournament.
The project is part of Fields West development which spans over 4 million square feet and includes office space, apartments, retail options as well as dining and entertainment venues.
