"Construction Begins on Universal Frisco Project"

Construction is currently underway for the Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, located at the northeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. The first structure to be built will be a 300-room hotel, with plans for additional rides, shows, restaurants and shops on site.

According to reports from the Dallas Business Journal and Orlando Park Shop, contractors have already laid foundations for a possible SpongeBob SquarePants-themed structure and dug trenches for a planned water ride. They have also paved a new six-lane road connecting Dallas Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway.

The resort is expected to open in 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup which will bring massive crowds to the region. Arlington’s AT&T Stadium has been selected as one of nine sites worldwide that will host games during this global soccer tournament. In total, five group stage matches are set to take place at this location.

This project is part of Fields West development which spans over 4 million square feet and includes office space apartments retail options dining establishments entertainment venues.
